A road win, the first of the season, on Matchday 8 has set Charlotte FC up for an exciting weekend back at home. Charlotte continues to hold its position in the top ten this week. They sit second in the Eastern Conference and third in the Supporters' Shield standings.
They now face another top-ten side, San Diego FC. Even with a weekend loss, the league newcomers are still high on the charts and sit third in the Western Conference.
Take a look at what the pundits across the league have to say about Charlotte FC's run of form:

“Pep Biel is making a case to be one of the best non-DP attackers in MLS. The 28-year-old Spanish attacking midfielder nabbed the lone goal of Charlotte's 1-0 road win over Montréal on Saturday and now has eight goal contributions through eight games.”

“Huge result on the road for Charlotte. They were outplayed for most of the match, but defensive resilience and yet another goal from Pep Biel sent them home with three points.
The Spaniard is having an outstanding start to 2025, with three goals and five assists through eight games."

“Pep Biel made the difference in Charlotte's 1-0 win at Montréal. Doesn't that storyline sound familiar? Biel is carrying the Charlotte attack right now.”
Previous ranking: 9
“*Charlotte FC* did what they needed to do against CF Montréal, picking up a 1–0 win in the Canadian club’s home debut while bringing The Crown their fourth win in five games.
However, it was an otherwise forgettable performance against a Montréal side that looked more comfortable on the ball, held possession for long spells, and were largely unlucky to beat Kristijan Kahlina on their 18 shots, only two of which they put on target.
Pep Biel continued to impress and got himself the goal, and his side got the win despite the performance. They’re up to second in the Eastern Conference now and take on San Diego FC next weekend in what should be a fun matchup.”
