MONTCLAIR, N.J. (Friday, July 24, 2026) - Crown Legacy FC took down Red Bull New York II on the road 3-0 at MSU Soccer Park on Friday night. For the second-straight match, CLFC saw three different goal scorers find the back of the net.
After a scoreless first half, CLFC found the breakthrough in the 56th minute after Hugo Mbongue drew a penalty kick. The Canadian stepped up to the spot and had his attempt saved by the keeper, but he followed up his shot and was able to poke the ball over the goal line.
Legacy doubled its lead just five minutes later. RBNY's keeper attempted to play the ball out of the back to his defender on the left flank, but Nathan Richmond anticipated the play and was able to cut off the pass for a one-on-one chance. The winger made his way into the box and calmly finished with his right foot.
The visitors found another in the 70th minute when Academy duo Adrian Mendoza and Magic Smalls combined for the dagger. CLFC capitalized again on RBNY attempting to play out of the back, with midfielder Baye Coulibaly intercepting the ball before finding Smalls. The winger hit a one-time pass to Mendoza who struck the ball past the outstretched keeper.
Crown Legacy FC continues its four-match road trip on Saturday, August 1 at Huntsville City FC. Kickoff at Joe Davis Stadium is set for 8:00 p.m. ET and the match can be streamed on MLSNEXTPro.com or OneFootball.
