Odunze puts up back-to-back clean sheets for the Club’s second consecutive win at the event

COLUMBUS, OHIO (Wednesday, July 24, 2024) – Crown Legacy FC Goalkeeper Chituru Odunze won Goalie Wars at the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge on Tuesday night, posting two clean sheets to bring the championship belt back to Charlotte for the second year in a row.

Odunze kicked off the night against Chattanooga FC goalkeeper Jean Antoine with both players keeping their nets clean until overtime. Odunze slotted his first overtime shot in the bottom right corner to punch his ticket to the final.

The Crown Legacy FC goalkeeper then found himself in the final facing North Texas SC goalkeeper Michael Collodi, who defeated Columbus Crew 2’s Stas Lapkes to make his way to the championship. Odunze took an early lead, again firing a shot into the bottom right corner with his first attempt. He then made several diving saves to uphold the shutout and take home the Goalie Wars belt for the Club’s second victory in as many years.

CLFC goalkeeper and last year’s champion Isaac Walker celebrated with Odunze alongside WWE Superstars Sheamus and Sonya Deville as they presented the belt to this year’s champion.

Odunze and Walker will now return to Charlotte with their belts and prepare for Crown Legacy FC's next match against Inter Miami CF II on Sunday, July 28 at 6:00 p.m. ET.
