Charlotte FC Academy Product netted a match-winning goal to win the award
CHARLOTTE, NC (Monday, June 3, 2024) – MLS NEXT Pro today announced that Crown Legacy FC midfielder Aron John earned Rising Star of the Matchweek honors for Week 12.
In a match with I-85 rivals Atlanta United 2, John broke the gridlock with a stoppage-time winner to take home all three points and receive the honor.
John has been key in CLFC’s turnaround in May, netting three goals in the last four matches. The Charlotte FC Academy product has contributed four goals and two assists in seven starts this season.
Crown Legacy FC found its groove in May, going on a three-match win streak to finish the month and rise to sixth in the Eastern Conference.
Next up, Crown Legacy FC will travel to Alabama on Saturday, June 8 at 8:00 p.m. ET to face Huntsville City FC for the second time this season. CLFC will then return to Mecklenburg County Sportsplex to take on league leaders Philadelphia Union II on Thursday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
