CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Thursday, September 3, 2026) — Crown Legacy FC today announced it has signed goalkeeper JP Philpot to professional contract through the 2026 season. He has spent time with the Club on trial this season.
“JP is an experienced addition to the squad that will bolster our goalkeeping unit through the rest of the season,” Belair stated. “With time in both Spain and MLS NEXT Pro, JP’s background has prepared him well for this stint with us as we aim for a deep run in the playoffs this year.”
Philpot, 23, joins the Club as a free agent after spending the 2025 season with division opponents Chattanooga FC and a short stint with the Birmingham Legion in 2024. The Winterville, North Carolina native attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2020-22 before departing for Spain, where he played La Liga side Rayo Vallecano’s academy in 2023 and CF Motril in the Tercera Federación for the 2024 season.
