CLFC adds to its midfield attack ahead of its home opener on March 17
CHARLOTTE, NC (Wednesday, March 13, 2024) – Crown Legacy FC signs midfielder Filip Mirkovic from the University of Pittsburgh.
The former Panther joins the Club after being drafted 54th overall by Orland City SC in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft presented by Adidas.
“Filip is a savvy midfielder who has been on our radar throughout his stellar college career at Pitt,” said Assistant General Manager Bobby Belair. “His elite vision, passing ability and leadership makes him an exciting prospect that will further strengthen our midfield core. We are excited to watch Filip develop in our environment as he begins his professional career.”
Mirkovic, 22, appeared in 75 matches across four seasons at Pitt, netting nine goals and adding 28 assists within that time. The midfielder’s 28 assists makes him Pitt Men’s Soccer record holder for assists in a career.
Mirkovic earned multiple accolades throughout his collegiate career, namely First Team All-ACC and First Team All-South Region in each of his final two seasons and All-ACC Freshman Team in 2020.
A Manhattan native, Mirkovic played for New York City FC Academy teams before moving to the University of Pittsburgh.
