Inclement Weather Policy
Inclement Weather Policy

With inclement weather in Charlotte during spring and summer, please stay alert throughout the matchday and near match time. If lightning is detected within an 8-mile radius of Bank of America Stadium, the venue will enter a Seek Cover protocol. This protocol will remain in effect until there is no lightning detected within an 8-mile radius of the stadium for 30 minutes. The clock will reset with every lightning strike within 8 miles.Once the weather has cleared, the Command Center will issue “All Clear – Resume Operations”

If you’re outside the stadium after gates have opened, please seek cover immediately. Adequate cover options include vehicles, covered parking decks, and buildings; the best option is the one closest to you. Once lightning has struck, patrons will not be able to access the building until the “All-Clear” call is made.

If you’re inside the stadium, the seating bowl and field will be cleared. Stadium staff will guide fans to the nearest safe shelter.

After 30 minutes following the last lightning strike within 8 miles, operations/gate entry may resume. This will be communicated via PA/LED Boards, email, and CLTFC social media channels. If the Seek Cover surpasses team warmups and/or scheduled kick time, Charlotte FC and MLS will determine a new kickoff time, which will be communicated to fans. Please add tickets@charlottefootball.com to your email address book and turn on your Charlotte FC App notifications for updates.
